Congratulations to all our attorneys who practice in the area of insurance litigation.  On June 12, they accepted the "Litigation Department of the Year" award in the category of Insurance (Small Firm) from the NJ Law Journal at the publication's Professional Excellence event.

On June 8, Leslie Parikh will speak at the “Legal Updates for New Jersey Local Government Attorneys” conference, sponsored by the NJ League of Municipalities and the NJ Institute of Local Government Attorneys.  Ms.Parikh will provide an update on recent changes in employment law,includingNJ’s paid sick leave law, the Diane B. Allen Equal Pay Act, amendments to the NJ Law Against Discrimination (NJLAD),expansionofNJ’s Family Leave law,andmedicalmarijuanaandreasonableaccommodationsunderNJLAD.  Ms.Parikh is available to present similar seminars for other organizations upon request.

Divorce is Topic of Men’s Discussion Group

The next meeting of a men’s discussion group focusing on divorce will be held on Tues., June 4, 2019 from 6:30 pm until 8 pm at the office of Safe Harbor Child Access Centers, 171 Main St. (2nd floor) in Flemington.  The group is for men who are separated, divorced, or going through a divorce.  This is a unique opportunity for men to hear from others, and to provide their own perspectives to other men who are dealing with these issues.  The program will be moderated by family law attorney William Rudnik of Gebhardt & Kiefer, P.C., certified financial planner Craig Hyldahl of R.I.C.H. Planning Group, LLC, and Carol Dvoor of Safe Harbor.  Food and beverages will be provided.  Although not required, please RSVP to Mr. Rudnik at 908-735-5161 so proper arrangements can be made for food and beverages.

On May 9, John Manfreda will present a free Estate Planning seminar at the North County Branch of the Hunterdon County Library in Clinton from 7-9 pm. He will cover topics such as Wills, Trusts, Estates, Powers of Attorney, Living Wills, Medicaid Planning, Long-Term Care Planning, Gift Tax Planning, Reverse Mortgages and Real Estate Strategies.  Mr. Manfreda will place special emphasis on estate planning for blended families and divorced parents. Free Divorce Seminar

On March 21, Diana Fredericks will present a free divorce seminar for women entitled “Thriving After Divorce.” The seminar will take place from 6 – 8 pm at the United Way Volunteer Center, 20 Fulper Rd., Flemington.  Ms. Fredericks will discuss what women need to know about the divorce process in New Jersey, including tips for navigating the financial and legal issues surrounding divorce.  To register, call 908-303-4311 or email claire@uwhunterdon.org.

On Jan. 24, William Rudnik and Diana Fredericks (both certified matrimonial attorneys) will speak on “Divorce and the Financial Impact on Families” at the Somerset County Business Partnership (SCBP) in Bridgewater.  The presentation begins at 8:30 AM. Registration is free for SCBP members, and $30 for non-members.
