While at the Scene of an Accident...

· If you are injured, request medical attention at the scene.

· If you can do so safely, see if any of the other passengers involved in the accident need medical attention.

· Make sure the police are called to the scene and that the responding officers generate a report.

· Record the license plate numbers of all vehicles involved in the accident, and the drivers' names, addresses, telephone numbers and insurance information. (Keep a small pad in your glove compartment).

· Records the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of all potential witnesses to the accident.

· Do not move your vehicle prior to the police arriving at the scene UNLESS it is necessary for your safety or the safety of others.

· Make sure you stand in an area that is safe. If possible wait in your car until the police arrive.

· Do not engage in any discussions as to fault with anyone at the accident scene and make sure that you do not apologize for anything.

· Do not leave the accident scene until the police tell you that it is ok to do so.

As soon as Practicable After Leaving the Accident Scene...

· Take photographs of your injuries and damage done to the vehicle.

· Return to the scene and take photographs (from a safe area), which depict all angles and the surrounding area.

· Contact your automobile insurance carrier and your insurance agent (if you have one).

· If you were injured in the accident, contact your attorney.

· Do not give any oral, telephone or written statements to anyone until you have contacted your own attorney.

Do not agree to settle or waive any claims or potential claims without contacting your attorney
